What's interesting?: Let's take a look at the 2006 NEJM article designed to make glucosamine and chondroitin appear ineffective.  Show me.

US orders are shipped via USPS Priority Mail.

International postage rates are calculated automatically; adjustments and corrections are made at time of processing.

Advantages:

  • Faster service
  • Better product safety
  • On-line tracking available
  • Delivery confirmation

"Shipping and handling": The automated charge for "shipping" includes the costs for "shipping and handling."  Shipping costs include the box, the tape, the label, the product protection such as foam, wrapping, etc and the costs we incur for obtaining these. Handling costs include curriers, employee salaries, etc.

Buyers need to pay for shipping in order for purchases to be processed: The price of the books covers the cost of the books, but does not include shipping/handling/courier/customs charges.  In order to have the books shipped, any applicable shipping/handling/courier/customs charges must be paid, and these are calculated automatically at the time of check-out and payment.  Purchasers are welcome select "no shipping charge" under the 3 following circumstances: 1) purchaser is picking-up books, 2)  previous arrangements have been made for personal delivery/pick-up, 3) purchaser is making bulk order for 20 or more books.  Otherwise, shipping/handling costs must be paid at time of check-out in order for the purchase to be processed and shipped.  Orders placed without payment of shipping charges will be cancelled.  Any return of books is allowed only if 1) books are returned in re-sellable condition preferably with the original seal on the box not broken, and 2) our original shipping costs will be deducted from the amount of any refund. These are the "terms of agreement" with purchases from this site.

International orders: International orders can now be placed electronically; international postage is calculated automatically. Shipping fees can be adjusted if automated checkout is significantly different from actual postage charge; changes can also be made for large orders (to save you money).

To which countries have we shipped our books?

  2. United Kingdom

  3. Kuwait

  4. Brazil

  5. Portugal

  6. Denmark

  7. Switzerland

  8. Australia

  9. Canada

  10. France

  11. ... and of course all over the USA.

Accurate address to be provided by purchaser: Purchasers are responsible for providing an accurate mailing address serviceable by the US Postal Service or international postal offices.  Nearly all packages are shipped via USPS Priority Mail and the addresses are confirmed via USPS delivery verification.  If an unserviceable address is provided by purchaser and this problem is recognized by USPS, one email will be sent to purchaser to verify/correct the mailing address.  If response/correction is not received by time of shipment, then the address used will be the address that was provided by the purchaser, and books may be shipped by media mail since USPS Priority Mail requires a verifiable address.   You can verify your mailing address here; if you want us to use a non-verifiable address please request this at time of check-out and note that this may result in a delay in the receipt of your product(s).

USPS Priority Mail: In order to ship books faster and more safely, we have recently started using USPS Priority Mail (rather than media mail), which has the additional benefit of allowing you to track your orders.   After packaging and delivery to the post office, books arrive to you in 2 business days; 3 days at the most.  This new service takes effect immediately and the website and shipping costs are being updated to reflect these changes.  Books are shipped in corrugated cardboard boxes for strength and safety.  Books are somewhat bulky (8.5"x11") and heavy (3 lbs per book) so that shipping is generally about $9 for one book, $13 for two books, ... $20 for four books.
